The result of my last 3-4 months of work is finally live. Earlier tonight, we launched the new onOne Software site.

Here’s a preview:

While I love the entire site compared to the old one, I think my favorite part can be found on the support pages:

Redesigned onOne Software blog launch

May 13th, 2009  |  12:08 am

One of the projects I’ve been busy with at work is building a new theme for the company blog. I’m happy to announce that we officially launched the new theme late Monday afternoon. Here’s a preview:

Go check it out and let me know what you think.

P.S. – I didn’t design the theme, our art director did—I did the code.

Introducing Three Dogs Media

February 5th, 2009  |  10:44 am

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, things have been pretty crazy around here (I actually wrote this last weekend and realized earlier this morning that I never published it). There are numerous reasons (more on that shortly), but one of them is that I decided to start freelancing again and have been busy getting a business name registered, getting a site built and online, and other related tasks.

Now that I’m done with most of that stuff, I’m pleased to announce that Three Dogs Media is officially open for business. If you’re looking for site design and development or if you need a custom WordPress theme or some custom PHP work, head on over to the site and check out our services and get in touch to discuss your project.

PS – For those of you who are wondering, I haven’t left my day job and have no plans to do so—this is strictly something I’m doing in my spare time.

Office move

August 17th, 2008  |  2:30 pm

As of tomorrow morning, we will be in our shiny new office space in the Commonwealth Building. Our old offices on SW Yamhill (see the image on flickr for notes), will be occupied by the company on the 4th floor of the building.

While I’m sure the new space will be much better in the long run, it makes me realize that TechTracker is really gone no matter how much some of us still cling to it. Our tiny, local company is now just another part of a giant media conglomerate. Kind of sad, really.

Owned.

For those of you who haven’t heard, the company I work for has been bought by CNET. If you read the comments on that blog post, the reaction from the Mac community has been mixed, although most of the comments sway towards the negative.

Speaking unofficially, the people who are upset really have nothing to be upset about (I phrased that as pleasantly as possible for you Rick ;-)). VersionTracker and MacFixIt are going to stay the way they are now and will still be run by the same people. Those folks who are flipping out about CNET coming in and lopping the head off the Mac focus of the sites really need to sit back and relax a bit because they have no idea what they’re talking about.

Seriously, folks. This is a good thing for both organizations. We now have more money for things we badly need (like more servers, etc.) and CNET gets a handful of sites that will expand their Mac presence greatly. There’s no nefarious plan, no Windows DVD-wielding demon making us all install Vista and throw out our Macs. Why all the hate?
