Worst day ever. EVAR!

December 5th, 2008 @ 8:50 PM

If you follow me on Twitter, you might’ve seen my tweets about the day I had. If not, you can go over there and read them, but now that I’m home I thought I’d post the email that I sent to my boss and some co-workers while I was at SFO earlier today. So, without further ado, here it is:

Here’s a recap of my day so far for your amusement :-)

  1. Get up and head to the Montogomery St. BART to get on the train to SFO.
  2. Have to switch trains/platforms in Daly City, even though I was on the Daly City/SFO train.
  3. Wait forever for the train, which was delayed.
  4. Get to the airport 30 mins before my flight and cannot check in. Miss my flight.
  5. Wait in a line of 20-30 people for much longer than anyone should ever have to wait in line for anything.
  6. Get told the 4:00 flight is full and get put on standby.
  7. Decide to eat something since I have 5 hours to kill.
  8. Get a tuna sub from Subway, which I have done a hundred times in the past without issue.
  9. An hour later, I am hunched over in a stall vomitting repeatedly.
  10. While in the stall vomitting, I get to listen to the guy in the stall next to me that seemed to be masturbating.
  11. Repeat #9 for the next 2 hours, thankfully without #10.
  12. Head into security about 45 minutes ago, and surprise, surprise, I get chosen for “additional screening”.
  13. Get treated like a terrorist for the next 10-15 minutes.
  14. Arrive at gate and sit down. A guy sits down next to me that is literally yelling into his phone at the top of his lungs.
  15. Loud guy gets off phone and toddler behind me begins screaming.

All of this, and I still won’t find out if I’m even on the flight for another 10-15 minutes.

Holy crap. Can I get a do-over for today?

Sounds like fun, huh? I didn’t think so :-) I am so, so, SO happy to be home right now words can’t even explain it.

Wedding ceremony - 10/19/2008

Tiff and I after the ceremony., originally uploaded by jmock.

I can’t believe I forgot to post this before, especially since I put the pictures up right after the wedding. Anyway, here’s a collection of wedding photos from Tiff’s family.

We haven’t got the “official” pictures back from the photographer yet, but when we do, I’ll post those too.

Today’s the day

October 19th, 2008 @ 10:13 AM

We’re getting married today. In 4 hours. At least things have been relatively calm with the families so far… hopefully it stays that way. Right now, I’m frantically charging battery packs for the Digital Rebel since I forgot to do it last night. Hopefully they’ll both finish charging before I leave the house… I’d like to have some pictures other than the “official” ones.

I guess I should stop writing this and go shower and get dressed. Gotta run by the Bitter End and make sure our sound setup works for the after-party. Oh, and meet my groomsmen for a pre-wedding drink :-D

Anyway, for those of you who are coming to the wedding, I’ll see you at 2:00!

For my wife-to-be

October 11th, 2008 @ 4:06 AM

You’re the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman I have ever met and I am absolutely honored that, in a week, you will be my wife. I’m am completely amazed that you’ve not only put up with me and my shit for the last 5 years, but that you’re actually willing to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I don’t have much more to say other than thank you for standing by me and supporting me for the last 5 years. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without you. I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you.

I really am the luckiest.

Say hi to the most expensive cat ever.

Some of Murray's wounds

If you follow me on Twitter, you might’ve noticed I sent a couple of tweets on Sunday about some chaos that ensued on Saturday night.

If you don’t follow me on twitter and are too lazy to click the links above, long story short, Murray (the cat in the picture) and Tanner got into a bit of a major scuffle while we weren’t home. Tanner had a cat claw stuck in his face when we got home and Murray was found behind the TV—bloody, soaking wet, and in a state of serious shock.

Anyway, the cat came home on Sunday night and has been recovering upstairs in the spare room (now his fortress of solitude). Since he’s looking a bit better and isn’t in as much pain as the last few days, I figured I’d take some pictures of the wounds. Unfortunately, he wasn’t very cooperative about rolling over, so I only got the one side. I’ll get some of the other side when he rolls over.

By the way, this is the same cat that cost us nearly $3k a few years ago when he jumped out of our 3rd floor apartment window and broke his leg. This time cost significantly less, but that explains the title of the post :-)
