The Real Story of John Walker Lindh

AlterNet has a really interesting article about John Walker Lindh. It’s basically an excerpt from a speech his father Frank recently gave at the Commonwealth Club of California. In it, he mentions that all but one of the charges against his son were dropped by the government; the one that stuck was for violating economic sanctions by supporting the Taliban (for which he got 20 years in prison).

If you’re at all interested in the Lindh case, how the media blows things out of proportion, or how quickly people’s assumptions about things or other people change, you should definitely read the article.
